When Life Gets Busy

If you’re anything like me, you have probably misplaced things or even forgotten what you did yesterday. Because life can be so busy, it is easy to misplace things every once in a while. There’s certainly always a list of things to do and not enough time in one day to do them all. You rush in from work, put up the groceries, get dinner ready, and put the kids in bed and prepare for a new day. And with that new day comes another day of the same routine except this day, you’ve misplaced the keys! There’s a big event after work that you just cannot miss, there’s soccer practice, and rehearsal for the kids. Then all of a sudden you realize that the event was a month ago.

When life gets busy and almost unbearable, who can we turn to for a renewed hope and strength? We have talked to a colleague or a family member. But, what if we talked to God first. Including God in all that we do ensures that our next step is always going to be God led. Even in a busy life, God is there with us. He knows what we deal with on a daily basis and He also wants us to remember that we’re not doing it on our own.

Making real time that’s set specifically for quiet time with God is most certainly essential for our daily walks with Him. Allowing this time to see what God is doing even in the mundane day to day tasks, enjoying the little things, and expecting nothing but the abundance of peace that God gives us is more than we can ask for. Take time to cultivate a routine that not only allows you to physically rest, but also spiritually rest. I encourage you to grab your devotional materials and set time out for God’s wise counsel in your life.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”- 2 Corinthians 12:9
