Seasons of waiting can be difficult to navigate through especially when we don’t remember who is in control. What can we do when we’re in these seasons of waiting? How can we be sure that God hasn’t forgotten about us even in this season? We must always keep in mind that God always provides for us in every season. God also is always working even in His silence no matter what season we are in. There are three key aspects that can remind us why God may have us in a waiting season.
God is preparing us for a season of abundance
This season simply may not be the season where God gives us what we’re seeking from Him. The next season could be more fulfilling but we must be ready to receive it. If God blesses us prematurely, we may mishandle the blessing. God may also be preparing us by changing a few things in our lives. God may remove, replace, or rearrange some aspects of our life so we can prepare to receive what He wants to give to us.
God is testing our faith
In this waiting season, God could also be testing our faith to see how much we trust Him. How can we trust God in our waiting season? We know that God will not leave us nor forsake us. God is exactly who He says He is. There is no guessing when it comes to God. God knows when our faith in Him begins to weaken. The waiting season can be used to strengthen our weakened faith in Him.
God wants you to grow spiritually
The aspects of the waiting season are vast. The relationship you have with God is personal and therefore, your season of waiting could be for different reasons. The best thing about being in a season waiting, is that God often uses this season to grow us spiritually. It’s all a part of His plan which is to help us move forward through this season only relying on Him. It’s not by our own power that we are able to go through seasons.
Whenever we find ourselves in a season of waiting, we should always seek God first. Only God can answer the question of why you may be in a season of waiting. Take time to listen to what God is truly saying to you so that you can be at peace in this season. Also, remember that nothing is wasted. This season of waiting will not be wasted but it will be rewarded. So when you feel unsure about this season, rest in Psalm 27:14. It gives us the clear direction and clarification how to wait with strength and depend solely on the Lord.
