Lately, I have been wanting to take a deeper dive into praising God. I am struck by how often we go through our day without praising God and acknowledging His presence in our life. Many treat praising God as a simple thought, while others truly desire to praise God not only for what He has done but, for who He is. Seeking God, praising Him in every moment, whether it’s good or bad, and acknowledging His presence should be our daily focus.
This article is going to shine the light on praising God because of who He is. Praising God shouldn’t be something that we mark off of our ‘to do’ list. It is imperative to earnestly acknowledge what God has done for us and also how much we’ve grown in our faith. Praising God does grow our faith. It is essential in having a relationship with Him.
God is sovereign and miraculous. He is the creator, the beginning and the end, The Alpha and The Omega. And He is exactly who He says He is. He is a provider, a helper, a keeper, and pusher, a motivator, and an encourager. He will never leave us, nor forsake us. Because He is all of that and more, we choose to give Him praise. We praise God, because He is good and worthy to be praised.
May we take every moment to praise God. In the quietness and stillness of the day, may we sit with God to simply give Him praise. “Thank you God because you are good. You are holy, you are righteous, and you are exactly who you say you are. God, your promises are true. You continue to give and provide for me even when I don’t ask and because of that, I will give you praise.”
We praise God through song, making a joyful noise like David. We praise God through prayer, like Hannah. We can praise God through dance like Miriam. Praise God every day because He provides for us every day, in more ways than we could ever count. Our praise isn’t in vain. God knows, God sees, and God hears, even the praises that come out as tears.
"Lord, you are my God: I will exalt you and praise your name: for in perfect faithfulness, you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago."- Isaiah 25:1
