Prayer is an essential tool in the Christian walk that allows us to have an open, honest conversation with God. Prayer is necessary and essential to the Christian journey. God is never unprepared or untrustworthy when we talk to him through prayer. God wants us to come to him at any moment.

Does God Hear Me?

There is no prayer that is too long or short that cannot reach the throne of God. How can we be certain that God will answer our prayer? It is written in scripture that, “ the effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man availeth much.” This Biblical verse found in the book of James 5:16, is telling us that our prayers will be answered. It assures us that when God hears us, He will indeed answer us. Everything in all His creation will come to pass on God’s time. We should be prepared to receive the answer that God gives to us.

How Should I Pray?

Oftentimes, we want to give God a long drawn out list of eloquent words in our prayers. God isn’t impressed by how big our words are when we pray. God is impressed by our willingness and humbleness to come to Him first. Prayer is a personal experience between ourselves and God. It’s so personal that God wants to hear the big, the small, and those intricate details that only you would tell to him. He wants the good, the not so good, the feelings, the hurt, the shame, the guilt, and everything that concerns the matters of our hearts and minds. We’re all unique so our prayers will be unique. A sincere prayer to the Father is all that He desires.

How To Pray Using Bible Verses

When we truly don’t have any idea what to say to God, we can always talk to God through the use of Bible verses. Open the Bible and quote Bible verses that speak to your situation. Make your prayer personal. This will open the door to being in the presence of God. It’s so good to know that when we don’t know what to say or how to say it, God has given us the words in the Bible.

How To Pray With Others

Connecting with others who share your faith is another powerful way to incorporate more into your life. With the use of technology, this can be online as well as in person. Sharing with others what God has done for you, encourages others, and gives them hope. Praying in your church, at work, or even with your family can have such a major impact on your prayer life. On the Christian journey, we all come into contact with those who believe and share our faith by fellowship and building community. This is a strong bond that allows each person to have a partner or even a prayer group.

In closing, there are so many ways to connect with God through prayer. May we all continue to talk to the Father and let Him lead us on this journey. There is no prayer that is too small and there isn't any situation that's too hard from Him to handle. I hope you have been blessed by reading this article and stay prayerful.
