Changes in life are inevitable. It’s something that helps us learn how to adjust in life and on our journey. Some changes open doors while others close doors. We often either find ourselves entering a new phase or making adjustments in our current phase. I didn’t realize when I was growing that my life would change.
Life changes aren’t really something that we plan for. They really just usually happen. From loved ones passing away, friends moving away and starting their own lives, or having to take the responsibilities of a new position. Indeed these life changes can at times be rewarding and at other times not so much. So what can we do as Christians to deal with these changes.
One thing is certain; God is with us in every life change. He’s there for the major events and the big surprises. Change isn’t meant to push us away from God but to bring us closer to Him. From the beginning to the end, God is faithful. He doesn’t expect us to do it alone but instead turn to Him.
When we take a deeper dive into change, we will see why God took us down a different path. We may not catch it immediately. With time all things reveal themselves. If God has decided to create a change in your life, it’s not because He is punishing you. It could be because He is preparing you for something greater. The process of the change doesn’t have to be hard. We just have to surrender to God’s plan, trust Him in the process, and remember all of the times God has shown up for us in the past.
So I want to encourage you to not despise change. It could be preparation or simply something that God has put in place for us to grow. Our changes differ from person to person but one thing remains the same, and that’s God’s sovereign and powerful place in our lives. He makes all things work for our good. And when dealing with those life changes, give yourself some grace. It may take time to get used to the change. Turn to God for comfort because He never changes.
1. Change doesn’t have to be difficult
2. Change encourages growth
3. Change requires us to trust God
4. Change teaches us patience
5. Change can be positive
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."- Deuteronomy 31:8
